Conclusion:
These interviews proved to be incredibly helpful as they revealed what was popular within horror from the eyes of many people who would be a large section of our demographics. One recurring factor that we noticed was the repetition of slasher being a favourite genre, this was a main reason why we chose to pursue this genre, as it was evident that it was popular and would have a greater chance for success. Another comment we took on board was the favour of a 'iconic' killer who is the main protagonist. We believed this to be interesting as this has been a feature of many incredibly successful horror films in the past, though there hasn't been any recently. We therefore wanted to take advantage of this with the use of a butcher as the main character, this concept was also well received and many thought that it was 'creepy' and were shocked, which was the reaction we were looking for as we wanted a concept that would be both disturbing and unique. Gore was also a topic that was repeated, this links in very well with the idea of the butcher as we will have plenty of oppurtunites to include gore with our plot. It was also stated that the butcher had to look 'creepy' we therefore plan on utilising makeup and costume to achieve this effect.
