Props
For our teaser trailer, we will be using a variety of different props. These props will add to the diversity and help to keep the selection of shots interesting and full of detail. In teaser trailers that we have studied, the director has included many types and formats of props to add detail and interest in the total amount of shots. Even if the shot is a couple of seconds long, it still suggests effort and a creative image, outside of the box. However, it is true that there should be lots of props or nothing, especially in a horror. The excess of props in a room, mainly in a Slasher, allows the audience to appreciate the creepy attributes or the unkempt nature of a killer. But sometimes, if this is not portrayed correctly, it can look too much. This is when a bare room looks even creepier, as it is not considered 'normal' or 'sane' to own a bare room and it also provokes questions within the audience such as, "What will he put in that room?" , "Is anyone going to find the things in that room?" , "If so, what will they say?".
