Casting Decisions
Main Lead and Antagonist: Dan Stafford
We chose Daniel Stafford as our features antagonist for a variety of reasons, mostly due to his physical appearance fitting the role of a psychopathic butcher. Dan is a heavy set gentleman and quite tall comparable to his victims giving him a similar stature to the seminal horror antagonist Leatherface from TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE(1974). Dan also has a large and unkempt beard giving him an unruly look that fit for a psychopathic character.
Victims:
Alice Cunningham
Conventionally, slasher-horror films have a collection a female characters who fall into one of a few easily distinguishable tropes, one of which being the mousy brunette who often, but not always, becomes the "final girl". Alice Cunningham is a small, plain but conventionally attractive young adult making her ideal for this female character trope. Alice also bears a resemblance to AMERICAN HORROR STORY actress Taissa Farmiga. Considering the popularity of AMERICAN HORROR STORY is would most likely be prudent to capitalise on these similarities.
Ranim Adla
Another female character trope commonly found in horror is the glamorous woman. This character is usual glamorous and attractive with most film casting a character with an ample figure and blonde hair although like always this isn't a concrete rule. As a side note it is also worth noting that these characters are usual comfortable and open with there sexuality which is often portrayed as sinful by the sexist film industry and is therefore used as some unspoken justification for the characters death, because apparently women have to be modest and plain and anything else is worth killing. But I digress, Ranim is an attractive, glamorous young adult making her ideal for the this trope. Ranim also bears resemblance to actress Nina Dobrev who appears in such horror features as THE VAMPIRE DIARIES and THE ROOMMATE.
