Risk Assessment:
For the Risk Assessment, we considered what obstacles may become a hazard to us whilst filming.
.) Soft Landings: One of our actors in the trailer is expected to be upside down during the filming. To ensure that this is executed safely, we plan to pad the floor below, so when lowering or dismounting our actor, they won't receive any injuries.
.) Head Explosion: The actor that is going to be hung upside down, will not be expected to dangle for long periods of time. During our rest periods, we plan to either put a table underneath our strung up actor, or lower her completely. This will prevent the blood rushing her head too fast and causing any headaches or internal damage.
.) Up and Away: As our actor will be hanging upside down, we plan to wrap rope around her ankles and then tie her to a hook hanging from the ceiling. If this doesn't work, we plan to have someone strong just holding her ankles and cut the holder out to make it more effective.
.) Break time: As we will be preparing to film for long hours, we will refresh our team with plenty of drinks and food throughout the day. We will also plan before we start, so we know exactly what we are doing, in order to save time and get things done. And we will also allocate rest periods, so we aren't over working ourselves. When we are filming and not using all of the team, the others are expected to be quiet and respect that we have limited filming time.
.) Everyone Together Now: We will be carrying out some serious procedures and therefore need time, patience and respect in order to get through the filming days swiftly and efficiently. We need to be conscientious about everyone's welfare throughout the day, but during filming, everyone is expected to help by either following instructions or being quiet. We cannot supervise everyone at all times when we trying to film and carry out intense procedures that require a heavy amount of planning, positioning and cooperation.
.) Equipment: Whether in use or not, any equipment will be treated with respect and handled carefully. In the event of a breakage, everyone will be alerted and an effective clean up method will be carried out. If anyone is caught being irresponsible with any of the equipment, then it will be removed from them and a group discussion will take place, to see if they are fit to have the equipment back. We will be using real knives, so full responsibility and common sense is forcefully required.
.) Blood: As we are filming a slasher, blood will be required on the day of filming. We plan to use different types of fake blood to be distributed over walls, knives and floors. Some of our actors may be required to orally ingest some, this type of fake blood won't be harmful in anyway. After usage, we plan to clear up any fake blood and restore everything we use back to the way it was.
.) "Arguments are henceforth disbanded...": On the day of filming, everyone will be under stress, as there is a lot of pressure on us to get things filmed, done and presented at correct deadlines. When the camera is rolling, everyone is expected to participate and if they don't they will be asked to leave. We will try to provide a happy environment, as to ensure no arguments or clashes take place. We are expected to get through a day of filming as best as we can, in order to keep the spirit going. Changes can be discussed but anyone found shouting or becoming angry will be asked to calm down or step out. Everyone needs to remember: we are pushed for time to get things done and also, everyone has taken time out of their busy lives to help us.
.) Weather change: If on the day of filming the weather is rainy or sunny, everyone is still permitted to come. There shouldn't be any outside shots, but if there is a little bit of rain won't hurt anyone. Although, the camera's will be fully protected and covered any no rain will seep into them. Also, nothing will be left out in the rain.
.) Clothes: Depending on the season, everyone should be wearing sensible clothes. But, some of the actors may need to wear clothes that they don't mind getting ripped or blood-spattered and also something that looks 'sexy' to appeal to the audience. For one scene, we may try a 'naked' effect, as when pigs are strung up in butchers, obviously they are naked. This will work by the following: a girl will wear a strapless bra and be wrapped in cling film around the breast area but with arms either included in the cling film or not. She will be hung upside from a hook and fake blood will drip over her collar bone, down her chin and down her forehead until it drips slowly onto the floor. For this, we will assure make sure that it doesn't go in her eyes and we may even use a red paint. Also, we will be inside, so the actors will be kept warm, no matter how stripped down and bare they end up.
